Personal Counselling Cell

Personal Counselling Cell
The Counselling Cell was set up in 1990 to help the students to overcome emotional stress and trauma and discover themselves.
Objectives
- To enable students with emotional problems to recharge themselves.
- To facilitate students to get clarity in their thoughts and make positive choices in the given situation.
- To facilitate self-discovery.
In a counselling session the student feels accepted and this helps her to open up her feelings, which are listened to by the counsellor. In the process, the student begins to get clarity in her thoughts and is able to know herself and make positive choices in her given situation.
The counselling cell is involved in value education classes and also runs credit courses in life skills. Through this process, much has been achieved. Students have empowered themselves to overcome problems like low self-esteem, loneliness, fear among many others. There have been cases of suicidal tendencies that have been overcome. Counsellors also help students access more specialised help if so required.
