This is an English Honours programme with a focus on creative expression and communication. If you are an aspiring writer and a literature enthusiast, BA (Hons) Communicative English is for you. This programme which takes in only 30 students is a challenging course that builds competence in techniques and methods of reading and writing to aid clarity, critical enquiry and creative expression. It also is a rigorous introduction to English studies and critical literary theory.
Your teachers are writers and scholars experienced in working with students and bringing attention to individual knowledge needs, capabilities and interests.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must fulfill the following to apply for this course:
- Passed Std XII/ PUC or equivalent school leaving examinations
- Proficient in the English language
- Passionate about reading
- Have an interest in Writing and Literature
- Have the ability to work hard and with consistency
TESTING AND EVALUATION
Note: All applicants to Communicative English (Honours) have to appear for a common entrance test. The entrance test is designed to check the aptitude of a student. The test checks English language skills, reading comprehension skills and writing skills. Total number of seats: 30 Note:- All admissions into the Honours course is through this entrance test alone.
- The test center is only at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. On-line testing facilities have not been activated.
- No recommendations will be entertained outside of the results of this test.

Our goal is to prepare the girls for future career options in:
- Writing for the Media
- Professional Creative Writing
- Media Production
- Web Content Development
- Management: Media Management, and Production Management
- Corporate Communications, including HR & PR
- To train students to write and read carefully, paying attention to the socio-cultural and political contexts they work within
- To help students develop an independent creative practice, become familiar with the writing process, and experiment with form, genre, and style
- To familiarise students with the history of writing in English and literary studies
