Activities of the centre:

  • Providing help, where sought, for writing research proposals, paper publication, Project Completion Report
  • Organizing workshops on research methodology for faculty members undertaking research.
  • Initiating faculty guided student research projects
  • Gathering and disseminating information about the availability of various research grants.

    • Structure:
      • The Centre is governed by a committee with members draw from different disciplines to attain interdisciplinary status. The research activities of the institution are guided by the Research Director, Dr. Radha D. Kale.
    • Perspectives:
      • Strengthen research – both of faculty and students.
      • Guide the staff and students to apply for research funds and research fellowships offered by National and International funding agencies.
    • Achievements :
      • Research projects have become a part of the curriculum for some UG and PG programmes.
      • Exposure of students to National level Seminars and Workshops.
      • Presentation of research findings by staff at International Symposia held at USA, India, S. E. Asia, Europe and Mexico.
      • Recognition from IGNOU as RRC (Recognized Research Centre) for M.Phil and Ph.D programmes (Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Electronics, Hindi, Sanskrit and Zoology).
      • Institution identified for support under Level – 0 of DST –FIST programme (Fund for Improvement of Science and Technology Infrastructure, by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. India) .
      • Recognition from IGNOU as “Recognized Research Centre” for Ph.D programmes (Botany, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Electronics, Hindi, Sanskrit and Zoology).
      • Recognition of the institution as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).
      • Several Undergraduate students are motivated and drawn to conduct research.
      • Carmelight-The Multidisciplinary Journal an in-house faculty magazine upgraded to a National Journal.

    Dr Radha D. Kale Felicitated with Life time achievement award during the third National Symposium on Earthworm Ecology and Environment November 9-11, 2012 by The Society for Earthworm Ecology and Research, India and Department of Zoology, Tripura University, Tripura.

    Dr. Radha D. Kale was felicitated with Life Time Achievement Award by Late Narasayya Memorial Felicitation Committee, Shri Circle Maramma Temple, Malleshwaram, Bangalore, for her contribution to the field of Science and Technology for societal benefits.
