Year of Inception – 2018 Essence of Programme

B.Com – Strategic Finance – US CMA is an undergraduate program in Commerce integrated with US CMA in association with Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA and Miles Education is the knowledge partner for the program.

The program matrix comprises of courses offered by Mount Carmel College, Autonomous along with courses integrated with CMA. The program entails a student completing the CMA qualification alongside their B.Com Strategic Finance from MCC. The core papers will be taught by experienced professionals who are CMA qualified. The methodology used in the program builds a platform for the students to apply their analytical skills through application and reasoning. The program sets a platform for the students to apply the theoretical concepts practically through a series of case studies. The course sets out on a vast expanse of knowledge and rigor, to make students industry ready.

The US CMA has been integrated into the college curriculum such that students will cover all the 12 core competencies covered on US CMA in the first five semesters. Thereafter, the students are expected to additionally appear for and pass the Two CMA exams.

Part 1 – Financial Planning, Performance & Analytics.

Part 2 – Strategic Financial Management

Thereafter, when students appear for placements with MNCs in early sixth semester, they will stand apart as a graduate with IMA membership and having cleared the globally – recognized CMA exams.

The B.Com Strategic Finance – US CMA course is challenging and yet very rewarding to students with high career aspirations since it’s a globally recognized course.

Eligibilty

Students who have completed Two Years Pre-University Course of Karnataka or Equivalent thereto are eligible to seek Admission to B. Com Strategic Finance – US CMA Degree Program. Candidates should have studied Business Studies and Accountancy at the Pre University Level.

Duration of Course

The duration of the program is three years spread over Six Semesters.

Medium of Instruction

The medium of Instruction and Examination shall be in English.

With a comprehensive program structure, the students of this program have extensive job opportunities in the field of Accounting, Finance, Governance, Insurance, Taxation, Risk Management, and Wealth Management and can exercise roles of a Finance and Accounting Managers within companies, Budgeting Managers, Investment Manager, Costing Manger, Payable Manager or Receivable Manager, Portfolio/Fund Manager, Financial Controllers, Treasurer, Chief Finance Officer. CMAs are the people who make daily decisions within the companies for its survival and growth opportunities in India for CMAs are with MNCs including Banks & Financial Services, Consulting, IT, Retail, Pharma, Manufacturing etc.

Students aspiring higher education after B.Com have vast avenues for pursuing their Masters in the field of Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Taxation and Investment Management across the Globe.

Dress Code

The students are expected to conform to the dress code specified by the college management. B. Com Industry Integrated students have to wear a Blazer and must be in their formal uniform for all formal occasions and whenever they represent the college. Students will wear their Identity Cards at all times.

Evaluation Pattern

Each course will be evaluated for a maximum of 100 marks comprising of two components namely Continuous Internal Exam (CIE) and Semester End Examination(SEE). The weightage for CIE and SEE is in the ratio of 40:60.

The Semester End Examination will be for 60 marks per course and Continuous Internal Assessment will be for 40 Marks respectively.

Eligibility

A candidate who has passed the B.Com/BBA/BBM/BBS honors (4 years) examination of Bengaluru City University or of any other university in India or abroad recognized as equivalent thereto and has secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate in all the four years put together shall be eligible for admission to the programme.
