ESSENCE OF THE PROGRAMME

The program aims to impart knowledge and skills for better understanding of subjects like accounting, finance, marketing and human resources. Vision

The Department of Commerce envisions imparting holistic education to women as individuals to empower them to take up responsible positions in life.
The programmes aim to mould the character, leadership qualities, ethical values and social responsibility among commerce students while also imparting skills required for integrating into the society and acting as change agents.

Mission

Through the program, we strive to inculcate Empathy, Emotional Stability and Financial Independence in our students apart from gaining a grasp over the episteme of Commerce.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

  • To give an insight into the various Functional Areas of Business.
  • To impart specific skills that will be useful in Decision Making in any Business Organisation.
  • To develop their Overall Personality and make them responsible citizens.
  • To inculcate greater awareness about Business, Society, Finance, Marketing and Human Resources.
  • To inculcate good Ethical practices in all aspects.
  • To impart Requisite Computer skills through CENTRE FOR EXTENDED EDUCATION

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE COURSE

Students are offered DUAL SPECIALIZATION in the FINAL SEMESTERS in Areas of ACCOUNTING, FINANCE, MARKETING and HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT. They can choose their electives based on their areas of interest and ACADEMIC PROGRESSION.

Program Specifications

ELIGIBILITY

Students who have completed Two Years Pre-University Course of Karnataka or Equivalent thereto are eligible to seek Admission to B. Com Degree Course. PU students must have done at least two of the Commerce Subjects at the PU Level.

DURATION OF THE COURSE

The Course of Study for B. Com Degree shall extend over a period of Three Academic Years consisting of Six Semesters.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Students can choose any Area depending upon their interest and Specialization as they are equipped in all Fields of Business, Commerce, Profession and Trade.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION

The medium of Instruction and Examination shall be in English.

DRESS CODE

The students are expected to conform to the Dress Code specified by the College Management.  Students will carry their Identity Cards at all times.
