About the Program

About the program: The B.Com. Industry Integrated program is a bachelor degree program in commerce. The main objective of this program is to enable students to acquire knowledge and skills required by the industry and business sector. It also ensures that students are equipped with knowledge of computers and various accounting, quantitative and analytical tools used in decision making. The curriculum facilitated by eminent faculty follows a contemporary take and emphasises on issues related to current relevance. This ensures that our students acquire knowledge of quantitative techniques as well as a thorough understanding of the field. Graduates of this degree will be able to demonstrate their skills in Accounting, Business Communication, Business Statistics, E-commerce, Finance, and Tourism Marketing. The Curricular and Extracurricular activities are designed in a way to ensure that the students receive a holistic understanding through the curriculum.

The programmes aim to mould the character, leadership qualities, ethical values and social responsibility among commerce students while also imparting skills required for integrating into the society and acting as change agents.

Mission

Through the program, we strive to inculcate Empathy, Emotional Stability and Financial Independence in our students apart from gaining a grasp over the episteme of Commerce and Education.

Objectives

  • The widening gap between industry and academia requires education to reflect the changing work profile and employment structures. To provide commerce students with experience in real work settings an attempt is being made to blend B.Com education with needs of the industry and society by providing for conceptual understanding, skill development, competency development, on the Job learning and building professional attitude and ethics. The B.Com (Industry Integrated) program is more application oriented and aims to give practical exposure to the students through industry internships. This program blends Industry Exposure with Academic Knowledge and is intended to prepare ready to be employed graduates.

Program Specifications

Eligibility

  • Each course in each semester shall be taken as a unit for the purpose of calculating attendance.
  • A student shall be considered to have satisfied the requirement of attendance for the respective course in each semester, if she has a minimum of 75% attendance in each of the course, failing which the student will not be allowed to take up the End Semester Examination

Duration of the Program

The course of study for B.Com. Industry Integrated degree shall extend over a period of three academic years consisting of six semesters.

Medium of Instruction

The medium of Instruction and Examination shall be in English.

Dress Code

The students are expected to conform to the dress code specified by the college management. B.Com. Industry Integrated students have to wear a Blazer every day and must be in their formal uniform for all formal occasions and/or whenever they represent the College. Students are also expected to carry their Identity Cards at all times.
