MCCIIE in association with Alumnae Association of our College, has launched and Innovation program of identifying and recognising the faculty and student entrepreneurs on Campus and initiated Women Entrepreneurs Award 2024.
“E-week Transcendo -2024”
MCC IIE held E week Trancedo- on the 6th of March, 2024. The theme of the event was ‘Breaking the Fourth Wall’. Encouraging the students to come forward with ideas to break the fourth wall of traditional approaches, and the many limitations of business and entrepreneurship.
- Inauguration Ceremony was held that morning with chief guests Mr Nanda Sringari, President and CEO Sringari worldwide inc and Mr. Shiju Babu ,Serial Entrepreneur, Global Speaker, Startup Facilitator, Startup India Mentor.
Later that day MCC IIE hosted Shark Tank. The aim of this event was to facilitate participants to come up with innovative tech solutions for the specially abled. It was judged by Mr AbhirupCo – Founder and CEO Waste Care Technologies Pvt Ltd and Co-Founder Tribal Brew and Mr Shiju Babu.
Workshop on “A Day as an Entrepreneur”
As a part of celebration of National Startup Day , a Workshop on ‘A day as an Entrepreneur’, was conducted on 20th Jan 2024 and 5th March 2024 in collaboration with Future Inspired Thinking(FIT) learning series and School of commerce , Department of Economics and Public Policy. This included talks on entrepreneurship, challenges and the event featured an intriguing display of company building, offering attendees a firsthand glimpse into the intricacies of establishing and scaling a business venture. Through this workshop, participants were equipped with valuable knowledge and inspiration to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.
“EMBRACING ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET: Building a Foundation for Success”
On March 4 2024,The Mount Carmel Centre for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship hosted a seminar titled “EMBRACING ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET: Building a Foundation for Success,” featuring speaker Umesh Narasimhaiah Co-founder of Azire.in and Caring Moms. The event likely focused on fostering an entrepreneurial mind-set and providing insights on how to lay the groundwork for success in the world of entrepreneurship. It provided attendees with valuable insights into the entrepreneurial mind set, motivation, and strategies for success. The event featured an engaging presentation by the speaker, focusing on key aspects of entrepreneurship and the advantages of starting a business in one’s 20s.
“Utkrshta”
Utkrshta, MCC’s official startup corner was inaugurated on 29th February 2024. The faculty and student startups who are incubatees of Carmel Incubator Foundation show cased their products and spoke about the same. This provides a platform for testing these ideas and floating the products in the market. This was an exciting event with Utkrshta marking a milestone for MCCIIE’s future endeavours.
“Essay and Debate competition”
The essay competition and debate held as part of the People’s Education Programme, organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) with MCC IIE on 28 February 2024, featured a total of eight participants engaging in discussions on the significance and impact of KVIC initiatives. Participants were tasked with crafting essays and presenting arguments on the promotion of KVIC programs. This unique format encouraged critical thinking and comprehensive understanding among participants, fostering a deeper awareness of rural development efforts. Overall, the competition proved to be an enriching experience, aligning with the broader educational objectives of the People’s Education Programme and contributing to the promotion of KVIC initiatives.
“Embroidery Workshop for Students”
This was conducted from 20th February to 24th February 2024. This workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission to enable students to upskill their embroidery expertise.
“Ideathon/Online Presentation”
This event was conducted on 9th February 2024 from 11:15 am to 1:00 pm in association with Sustainable & Innovative Solutions in Cross-Disciplinary Research (ICISCDR@2024). Dr. Sarwath from the Department of Computer Science gave an overview of how the competition would proceed. Participants were to present their ideas focusing on creativity, originality, problem-solving and sustainability. Some of the ideas included mycelium bricks, a smart air cooler, drone technology for environmental monitoring and smart traffic signal control.
“Madagascar 180°(Culah)”
Madagascar 180°(Culah) held on February 3, 2024, brought together 8 teams to pitch various different ideas on a product for wild animals. Organized in collaboration with The Artha Association, the event showcased innovative ideas and solutions and each team was given 6 minutes to present. This event thus shed light on some of the pressing issues in the wildlife.
“Acadamecia an inter collegiate fest”
Acadamecia, an inter college academic fest was hosted by MCC on 11th January 2024 on the theme ‘Mindful Horizons: Interdisciplinary Dialogues on a Sustainable Future’ and The Mount Carmel Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship had a part to play in it. MCC IIE hosted ‘Makeshifters’, a one-of-a-kind event providing the opportunity for students from various colleges an opportunity to blend innovation and creativity to come up with sustainable eco friendly product ideas with limited resources.
