The Department of History is delighted to invite you all for a talk organised in collaboration with the Carmel Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems on Exploring Multiple Streams of Indian Knowledge Systems: Therigatha as an Instance by Dr Muthulakshmi K.
This talk explores the possibility of combining different branches of knowledge systems embedded in different languages and cultures in India. It takes the case of Therigatha, as an instance to explore the historical, spiritual, aesthetic, and gender perspectives. The talk will cover ways to understand traditional texts and explain the ideas of Sangathi and Sambandha.

Dr. Muthulakshmi K is a retired professor at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kerala. She received the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award for translation in 2008 and has served as the pro-vice-chancellor.
