Prof Janaki Nair is an eminent historian and public intellectual. Her works spans across legal, social & cultural history, urban studies, modernity & development, gender and public history. She is a specialist in the history of Mysore/Karnataka. Prof Janaki Nair has taught at the Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. As a public intellectual, her writings and commentaries offer in-depth perspectives on contemporary India.
