On transferring and establishing its presence in Bangalore, it became one of the first women’s colleges in Karnataka, in 1948 affiliated to Mysore University
1964
- One of the first colleges in Bangalore to be granted affiliation by Bangalore University in 1964
- The first women’s college to start an NCC wing in Karnataka
- One of the first all-women’s colleges to start PGDBA in India
1998
Celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1998, its academic excellence and noteworthy achievements
1999
- Awarded Five Stars by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 1999
- The first Campus Recruitment was held by General Electric for all the final year students of the 1999-2000 batch
- Selected for the India Study Abroad Programme by the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Northern Essex
- Honoured by the Rotary Club for “its service to the community, serving the noble cause of education”
- The winner of the Dr Job Memorial Award for “its excellent and innovative programmes”
- MCC has been featured in ‘India Today’ since its conception and has continued to claim its ranking as one of the top twenty colleges of India every year
