Mount Carmel Placement Cell was initiated in the year 2002
The objective of the Placement Cell is to provide our students’ Campus Placements in the best companies and to impart the right training & instilling confidence in them to face the corporate world.
Campus Recruitment Training :
We believe in the holistic development of our students and therefore adopt an integrated approach to get our students job-ready. The training is led by industry experts who help bridge the gap between the Campus and the Corporate. Aptitude Development, Leadership &, Entrepreneurial Skills, Problem-solving, Communication, and Presentations are some of the areas we focus on in our training.
Career Coaching :
Thanks to the information age which has opened up a plethora of opportunities, career counseling has become more relevant than ever before. One-on-one mentoring, group sessions, career guidance seminars are some of the activities that MCC undertakes to help students make the right career choice.
The Placement Cell and the other Departments of MCC strive to provide the students a hands-on exposure through industry-interaction, live projects and internship programs to prepare students for the real-world.
Internship Program :
The introduction of an Internship culture has helped in providing students with real-world experience and help them prepare for their career. As early as the 1st Year of their graduation, students are provided an opportunity to intern with Corporates and Startups. Given that they start early, students get exposed to a cross-section of domains, learnings, and interests. Towards this, the Placement Office hosts the Annual Internship Fair during which scores of Companies come to campus and vie with each other to select the best talent.
Students will be available for a full-time internship during the summer vacation. For Part-time Internships & Jobs, students are available after college hours and weekends during the class term.
Industry Interaction & Live Projects :
We believe in the concept of ‘learning by doing’ and hence industry interaction and live projects are strongly encouraged and facilitated by the college. Also, regular sessions from industry experts, entrepreneurs and professionals are organized to provide students direct exposure to the working of the industry – be it the Corporate world or the Startup.
Entrepreneurial Culture and Skills :
We understand entrepreneurial students are most coveted by the industry for their out of the box thinking, ease of moving out of the comfort zones, leadership and problem-solving skills. We, at MCC, have a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem that inculcates entrepreneurial thinking and provides ample learning and exposure for our students. Students start practice companies while on campus and many join Start-ups. This has immensely helped in the holistic development of our students.
Placement & Training Association :
The Placement Cell handpicks motivated students to form the Placement & Training Association. The objective of this Association is to help identify the training needs of students, coordinate with the companies and help manage the placement drives. The association members also help in the seamless communication of Placement activities across all Departments.
The Recruitment Season begins in the month of August every academic year.
The MCC Placement Cell works around the clock to ensure that every Carmelite interested in getting a job succeeds in doing so. Students are geared up for the Recruitment Process through integrated training and coaching. The Placement process commences by Mid-August and continues beyond April (of the following year), Companies that wish to participate in the Recruitment Process at MCC are required to write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and by filling the Company Job Announcement Form, elaborating the Job Profiles, Preferred Skill Sets, Preferred Streams and the approximate Cost to Company (CTC) along with preferred dates to conduct the recruitment drive. The final schedule for the Placement Drive will be fixed by the Placement Cell in consultation with the Company. We encourage our students to attend Off-campus & Pool Recruitment Drives as well.
It is advised that all the Recruiting Companies review the Recruiting Company Policy to ensure smooth recruitments.
The drive is conducted as scheduled on mutually agreed date(s). Companies can choose to give a Pre-Placement Talk/ Presentation. The Company decides the recruitment process of conducting the Aptitude test, GD, Case Study, PI, etc. The required logistics for the recruitment will be arranged by the Placement Cell.
