Vice-Principal
Dr. Charmaine Jerome took up duties as the Vice-Principal of Mount Carmel College, Autonomous, in September 2017.
She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, with three decades of service in the institution. Dr Charmaine Jerome graduated from Holy Cross College, Trichy, and went on to do an MSc and MPhil from St Joseph’s Autonomous College, Trichy. She was awarded a PhD degree from Gandhigram Deemed University for her prolific work on “Pollutant distribution in groundwater and soil of Peenya industrial area in Bangalore using GIS” and has several publications to her credit.
Dr Charmaine Jerome is a very committed teacher whose unwavering dedication, radical pedagogies, and eye for detail result in utmost proficiency in anything she takes up. Her charismatic persona and passion can be seen through her prowess, ranging from teaching to student welfare and administration.
Apart from being a very popular teacher of chemistry, she has contributed with her ability to plan, organise and meticulously execute various curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular programmes in college.
Dr Charmaine Jerome, with her dynamism and efficiency, is certainly an integral contributor to the vision of MCC and we hope to unravel many more milestones with her.
